Behind the Ear Hearing Aid

If you are hearing disabled, there are many    choices that you may make when it comes to choosing a hearing aid. There are many  hearing aids types : there are many that fit into the ear and then there are many  that fit in completely into the ear canal. The hearing aids that go into the ear canal may appear to you like they are the most favorite hearing aids used because of cosmetic causes - yet, the most favorite hearing device is the behind the ear style aid.

Just In case you are unaware of what the behind the ear hearing aids are, they are made as an ear mold which is said to fit into the ear and is attached to by a small pipe that connects the ear mold directly to the hearing aid. The tubing that is employed on the hearing aid is referred to as the tone hook. Nearly all hearing aids have an off and on control,  a battery compartment and a control switch for the loudness. There is too a microphone situated at the upper part of the hearing aid on most of them , and the voices are basically sent to the ear via the tubing when the ear mold is fitted into the ear.

Most of the time, when children need to be fitted for hearing aids, they are fitted for behind the ear hearing aids. The main cause that kids are equipped with behind the ear hearing aids is because they are not as breakable as the other types of hearing aids. They are also preferred because the children do not  have still acquired the fine  skills required in order to set a hearing aid in , or to operate one. Most of the time, with the behind the ear hearing aids, the controls are big sufficient so that the kids can manage them nicely.

However, there are some minors that do have a few  problems with the behind the ear aids although they are mostly small problems. One complication that kids have with the behind the ear hearing aids is that the ear canal changes in the size and shape over time as the kid grows and because of that, the kid will have to be checked twice a year. Still, you should  notice that this is also the case with other types of hearing aids . The behind the ear devices are also small enough so that the youngsters may have a time trying to keep track of them when they are not wearing them. The most frequent problems that relate to the behind the ear hearing aids are that the children’s  ears may not be large sufficient to hold the hearing aid. If you get proper fittings, you shouldn’t have to worry about this. If this doesn’t work, you can always try the Huggy device.

One of the great things about behind the ear aids is that they are a little larger than the other devices that are worn in the ear. The behind the ear hearing aids require larger electric batteries which stands for more power as well as more gain.
